Probably not the best way to start the day – yelling at the bird outside my open window to shut up…. in my defense, it wasn’t a pretty little song bird but something that was squawking up a storm. And I was trying to sleep.
Yesterday was a long and very busy day. Woke up at 4 in the morning to a dog that was sick – ALL over the place – spent the next 30 minutes cleaning everything in sight up. Go to work at 8, run errands during lunch, get off work at 4 and then go to second job at 4:30. Work til 8pm.
Needless to say – I was exhausted when I got home.
And the worse thing is – when I work days like this I usually cheat on my calories. I’m too exhausted to cook so I just drive through and grab something on my way home. And then I feel like shit afterwards – both mentally (I cheated) and physically. To top it all off – I may be coming down with something. One thing I especially hate about my lupus is I never know if I’m coming down with a bug or if I am going into a flare. I usually just end up treating it like a flare, and so I start resting more, drinking more fluids, sleeping more so I can try to ward it off. Since these are things you do for other types of bugs I usually can avoid getting sick if I think preemptively.
Soooo. Back to cheating on dinner -I’ve decided that I am going to start pre-making dinners (and freezing them) for days just like yesterday. So then I can come home, pop something in the oven or microwave and not feel like crap!
Don’t worry Jayme, it only took you how many years to think of that?
